The University expects students to be available to sit their examinations in Adelaide during examination periods.
If you cannot make it to your examination due to unforeseen circumstances like medical and/or compassionate reasons, you may be eligible for a Deferred assessment. Where there is a medical reason, you should obtain a medical certificate from your doctor/counsellor; alternatively, you can do this at our Health, Counselling and Disability Service.
You will need to complete a Deferred Assessment Application form (printed copies are also available at your College office) and submit it, along with any supporting documentation, to your College office within three working days of your examination date.
If you have exceptional circumstances and would experience hardship if required to sit your examinations in Adelaide, or if you have compelling reasons for needing to sit your examination outside of Adelaide, you may be given permission to sit an examination off-campus (however, this is not possible during the Deferred and Supplementary examination period).
You will be required to cover all expenses associated with sitting the examination off-campus including administration fees, postage, supervision costs, room hire etc. This payment is to be made directly to the institution/organisation where your examination is being held.
It is not possible to sit computer-based examinations off-campus. You will need to liaise with your Topic Coordinator in this instance. Contact details of Topic Coordinators are outlined in the topic descriptions.
Exams held off-campus must be sat at the same time/date that the equivalent Adelaide examinations are held.
Applications to sit off-campus exams must be lodged online at least four weeks before the commencement of the exam period. Late applications may not be considered.
