If you are new to the library the Library Skills Search Smart Guides are a good place to begin. You can find information on the basics of using FindIt@Flinders (the library catalogue), library databases, understanding search results and a lot more.
We are always happy to assist is you are having problems finding resources you need. Contact the library or visit the information desk where the librarian can assist you further.
If the book you are looking for is currently out of the library (ie. on loan to someone else), you can place a hold on the item to be next to borrow it
If you have found an item using FindIt@Flinders, but can’t find the item on the shelf, here’s some suggestions on what to do. Double check the location in FindIt@Flinders. There are three Flinders Library branches, Central, Sturt and Medical and items can be held in one or all three branches. If the book you are looking for says ‘text book collection', these are held in a different location. If you come to the information desk in the library, you can get a floorplan (map) and the librarian can check you are looking in the right place. The librarian can also provide more advice if the item still can’t be found.
